The RPG-7MX 2 40 mm rocket launcher is an infantry anti-tank weapon designed for engaging armored vehicles in close combat. It is also effective against enemy personnel and fortified positions such as bunkers, buildings, and open-area defenses.

It achieves optimal effectiveness against armored vehicles at distances up to 300 meters, while enemy personnel and defensive positions can be targeted at ranges of up to 500 meters. The system consists of a launcher body equipped with an optical sight and a RAP system. Operated by a two-person crew—a gunner and an assistant—it requires a safety distance of 30 meters. The launcher is positioned at a 45-degree angle from its axis and can be fired from standing, kneeling, or prone positions.

The RPG-7MX 2 utilizes cumulative, high-explosive, and thermobaric warheads. Upon firing, the projectile exits the barrel with an initial velocity of 120 m/s, accelerating to 300 m/s after 10 meters. It can penetrate up to 330 mm of steel plating, with a firing rate of approximately 4–6 rounds per minute and an effective range of 500 meters.
